Fast weight loss – a true story
Last night I was watching a talent show on TV and one of the contestants came out and said ” I lost 80 pounds in order to be fit before joining this game”. Everyone was shocked. They started wondering how did he made it. Their curiosity grew bigger when he showed them the size of clothes he used to wear 10 months ago. Everyone was impressed and the question did not take long to come: How can you lose weight? One of the judges asked the contestant and how did he manage to lose so many pounds in just 10 months. Not surprisingly the person replied that all he did was to eat less and spend a couple of hours a day on the gym. He did not use any special diets or pills but he did it the difficult but healthy way.
The audience still could not believe him and they had to show the video showing pictures of him, one year ago when he was overweight. Everyone was impressed by the courage and willingness of this person. This is a true story that can be very inspiring but also tells a big truth. To lose weight fast you have to do 2 things only. First, watch what you eat and eat less, and second exercise more. Eat less calories and burn more calories;that is the simple truth of weight loss.
The difficult part in weight loss is how you can achieve both in a short time as to lose the weight you want. Some tips to help you out:
1. Next time you go to buy food from the supermarket before buying any item read the nutrition label. Make a note of the calories the item has, as well as the percentage of fat and sugars. To assist your weight loss efforts select foods that are not only low in calorie but also low in fat and sugars. There are plenty of foods that meet this criteria.
2. When you eat your food portion make sure that you eat less food than what you used to. For example if you used to eat 2 pork chops and now you want to lose weight, eat only one. A good tip to help you is to eat more vegetables with your meals. Vegetables have more vitamins, less calories and can fill up your stomach faster.
3. Skip soft drinks. Many people suggest that you should switch regular soft drinks with diet soft drinks. We suggest that you drink as much water as you can and only 3 times per week to drink a light soft drink. You have to gradually get used to the idea that you will not drink soft drinks but healthy beverages such as water, green tea and fresh juices.
4. Stay away from miracle products. Adverts like “how to lose 10 pounds in a week” are simply fake and these products should be avoided.
